MY oh my, give Scottish Rugby a foot and they are almost guaranteed to shoot it, from their continued campaign of ignoring youth players that do not attend fee-paying schools to appointing inappropriate characters to the management board.
Timing is all, with the under-20 male youth squad being announced the week that the England and Wales Cricket Board was criticised for recruiting from a small number of fee-paying schools, and last weekend the foot shot was the appointment of Ruth Davidson to the board just as Scottish Rugby launch the World Cup replica kit.

Many supporters have vowed not to support the Scottish Rugby Union in any financial fashion as long as Ms Davidson is in place.
It really should have been clear to the management team in Murrayfield that appointing Ms Davidson would split the supporters, just as appointing Alex Salmond, Nicola Sturgeon or Alex Cole-Hamilton would do.
One has to ask what they are thinking.
