SCOTTISH Questions in the House of Commons on Wednesday heard from the LibDem MP Christine Jardine (Edinburgh West) regarding the cost-of-living crisis and child poverty in her constituency.

On rising to her feet Ms Jardine accused the SNP government in Holyrood of only focusing on the issue of Scottish independence!

This is an accusation I do not recognise and is nothing short of insulting to those who have gratefully received the groundbreaking Scottish Child Payment (£25 per week for eligible children) here in Scotland and I am sure including in her constituency.

The only part of the UK to have such a payment, demonstrating the Scottish Government not only want Independence for Scotland, but are reaching out to those who are being affected by the crashing of the economy by the Conservatives at Westminster.
