DISAPPOINTED at the front page of The National on Thursday. Many, many Tory and Labour MPs send their children to private schools – they are entitled to spend their money as they wish. The issue of charitable status for these schools is a different issue altogether.

Better in my opinion to concentrate on the Tory party’s lack of knowledge or care for workers and the poorly paid in our country. The cost of living crisis and energy bills are surely the biggest issues facing most people at the moment. Anyone working and on benefits is simply not being paid enough and employers are therefore making profits (some of these profits are huge) on the backs of their workforce.

The new legislation regarding striking and protesting is hitting the rights of workers and those not happy with government policies. The changes from EU law to UK law will be to the detriment of many workers and families in this country. Working hours, holidays rights, maternity leave etc are all enshrined in EU law and must not be allowed to be weakened by this Tory government.
