WELL done to Jeane Freeman regarding her call to sack the leadership of Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board. Her experience of the arrogance of health board officials seems remarkably similar to the arrogance of council officials in Renfrewshire who approved the building of a primary school which was too small for the number of pupils it was going to receive.

While it’s clear that Ms Freeman had the determination to stand up to such officials, the same can’t be said about Renfrewshire Council.

There is one common factor in that a senior councillor in Renfrewshire – Councillor Jacqueline Cameron – is also on the health board, and bizarrely enough, didn’t just accept the claims of the health board in regard to spying on patients, their relatives and various politicians, but actually went so far as to praise the staff involved!

Maybe the world needs more Jeane Freemans and a lot fewer Cllr Jacqueline Camerons!
