PREMIER LEAGUE new boys Nottingham Forest are right in the mix of clubs looking to sign Rangers star Joe Aribo, according to a report.

Steve Cooper's side are said to be willing to spend big to land the Nigeria international in the summer window.

The Ibrox ace, 25, has a list of admirers down south, with the likes of Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Fulham all keen on the attacking midfielder.

However, the Scottish Sun report that Forest are desperate to make a good account of themselves next season after over two decades out of the big time.

And they say that they've jumped to the head of the queue in the battle to sign Aribo as a result.

Their billionaire owner Evangelos Marinakis is determined to make sure they avoid heading back to the Championship.

This morning they secured the signing of Aribo's international teammate Taiwo Awoniyi from Union Berlin for £17million.

Now, it's said they will turn their attentions to signing Aribo from Rangers.

Aribo is entering the final 12-months of his Ibrox contract, with his representatives apparently making it clear he won't sign a new deal.

He joined Rangers from Charlton in the summer of 2019 for just £300,000, so should the club sell him, they'll be in line to make a large profit.
