AN Edinburgh brewery has been named Scottish Brewery of the Year in Scotland at the 2024 Scottish Beer Awards.
Stewart Brewing triumphed at the event, which was held earlier this month, solidifying its reputation as one of the country's leading craft breweries.
In addition to this, the Stewart Brewing Beer & Pizza Restaurant was recognised as the Best Beer Destination, establishing it as a must-visit spot in the capital.
Stewart Brewing named the best brewery in Scotland
Co-founder Jo Stewart said of the Scottish Beer Awards win: “Winning Scottish Brewery of the Year is a huge honour and testament to the dedication and passion of our entire team.
"Not only are we proud to be recognised for the quality of our beers, but we’re also thrilled that our Beer & Pizza Restaurant has been celebrated as a top destination for beer lovers.”
Not only does the Scottish brewery produce world-class beer, but it also has a strong focus on sustainability, committing itself to reducing its environmental impact.
Recently, the brewery invested in several innovative practices, including C02 recapture technology and the use of solar panels to power its various operations.
Stewart said: “Our sustainability efforts are a key part of who we are,” adding: “By capturing CO2
emissions from the brewing process and generating energy from solar power, we’re
taking meaningful steps towards reducing our impact on the environment.”

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
