POLICE Scotland is appealing for information after a car was set alight in Galashiels in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police were called to a vehicle fire on Windyknowe Road in an incident which also resulted in damage to a garage and second vehicle. 

The force is treating the fire as "wilful".

Police became aware of the fire between 12.30am and 1.00am on Sunday morning, with no injuries reported after the blaze.

Detective Constable Liam Myers of Galashiels Police Station said: “I’m appealing to anyone with information on what happened to get in touch with us.

“If you have doorbell cameras, private CCTV or a dashcam, please review your footage and bring anything of significance to our attention.”
