Cleansing workers from the Unison, Unite and GMB unions have announced that they will be staging industrial action across most of Scotland later this month.
Workers from 26 local authorities will walk out after a 3.2% pay offer from councils was rejected by members who claimed it failed to match the escalating cost of living.
The Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (Cosla) said that the current offer is the "limit of affordability for councils" but promised they would try and find a resolution to the issue “as quickly as possible”.
If you're worried about how these strikes will affect you, here is everything you need to know.

How will the bin strikes in Scotland affect me?
The eight days of industrial action will affect scheduled residential and public bin collections across the 26 councils.
Discussing the planned strike action, GMB said that bins "from the smallest villages to the biggest cities" will not be emptied by waste and refuse workers.
When will the Scottish bin strikes take place?
The bin strikes across much of Scotland are set to take place from August 14 to August 22, affecting the Festival Fringe in Edinburgh which runs from August 2 to August 26.

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
