A MUCH loved bar and restaurant in Glasgow has announced its shock closure.
The G41 Bar, located in Shawlands, took to social media to state it would be closing its doors for the final time at the start of August.
The popular city bar is best known for its cocktails, food and live music.
In a statement posted online, the owners took the time to thank customers and staff as they said they are “forever grateful” for their support.

Punters can visit the bar and say their goodbyes up to Sunday, August 4, when the venue will close for a final time.
The owners, however, have said it’s not a goodbye but rather see you soon.
The full statement online read: “It’s with a heavy heart we have to let you know G41 bar will be closing its doors for the last time on Sunday 4th August…..
“We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported us, customers and especially our staff, we are forever grateful….we will still be here until the 4th, so pop in and see us and let’s make the remaining time a farewell to remember!!
“We’re taking a wee bit time out…but it’s not goodbye…it’s see you soon….”
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
