A TEENAGER aged 13 was among a total of 40 arrests made by police at the TRNSMT music festival in Glasgow over the weekend.

Police Scotland have confirmed 21 arrests were carried out within the confines of the festival area on Glasgow Green from Friday to Sunday and a further 19 were made around the site’s entrance.

Eleven were made on Friday, 14 were made on Saturday and 15 were made on Sunday, police said.

Individuals were charged with a range of offences including carrying illegal drugs, assault, sexual assault, disorder and breach of the peace.

The youngest person to be arrested was 13 and the oldest was 45.

It is estimated about 50,000 people attended each day of the three-day event, which featured performances from the likes of Liam Gallagher, Gerry Cinnamon and Calvin Harris.

Meanwhile, police are also appealing for information after a 15-year-old male was injured in a disturbance around the same area at the weekend.

The incident happened in the Glasgow Green area near the boat house at about 4pm on Saturday.

The teenager had to be treated for a head wound by medical staff following the disturbance.

Police have not revealed whether the incident was linked to Trnsmt.

Detective Sergeant Stephen Greenshields, of Shettleston CID, said: “Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and trace those involved in the incident.

“I would urge anyone who witnessed the disturbance or who has any information that could assist with our inquiries to please get in touch.”
