A SCOTTISH hotel set in an original Victorian-era villa has been put up for sale.

Specialist business property adviser Christie & Co has brought the Ardshiel Hotel in Campbeltown to market.

Originally used as a family home up until the 1950s, it was converted to a hotel and features 10 en-suite letting rooms, a popular award-winning bar, garden restaurant and external beer garden.

Agents have said the sale presents a “fantastic opportunity” for prospective buyers and noted that the business is close to the ferry terminal in Campbeltown.

Associate director at Christie & Co Tony Spence, who is handling the sale, said: “Our clients have owned the business since 2008 and are now selling due to retirement from the trade.

“Since owning the hotel, our clients have invested a significant amount of capital and there is therefore no requirement for any further capex, this has in turn created a profitable and sustainable business for the incoming purchaser to naturally grow going forward.”
