MICHELLE Mone has shut down two of her three remaining businesses whilst being under investigation for allegations linked to a firm given Covid contracts through the Tories’ unlawful VIP lane.

The baroness is under investigation by the National Crime Agency (NCA) after company PPE Medpro – which is owned by Mone’s husband Doug Barrowman – was awarded Government contracts worth more than £200 million to supply personal protective equipment after she recommended it to ministers.

Now, new documents posted to Companies House last week, signed by Mone herself, reveal her intention to dissolve two of her businesses, MMI Global and Michelle Mone Interiors.

If the two companies are dissolved, it would leave Mone (below) listed as a director of just one company – MGM media – which manages Mone’s TV work and speaking engagements.

The National: Michelle Mone has admitted involvement with PPE Medpro for the first time

The company last filed accounts in 2014 when it was described as a “dormant” company as it was not generating any revenue.

MMI Global, one of the companies set to be dissolved, owed £22,249 to creditors according to the most recent publicly available accounts.

Because the business is classed as an unlimited company, it is not required to file regular accounts at Companies House in the same way limited companies do.

Knox International, Barrowman’s company based in the Isle of Man, held a 51% stake in MMI Global, and a 65% stake in Michelle Mone Interiors.

It does not hold any stakes in MGM media, the last business to be owned by Mone.

Mone has been contacted for comment.
