A body has been found in a multi-agency search for a man who went missing after travelling to the Crianlarich mountains.

Ivan Meyer, from Edinburgh, left his home and travelled to Crianlarich by train on April 1.

It is believed the 45-year-old arrived at the foot of the mountains from the A82, south of Crianlarich, to make an ascent on An Caisteal and Beinn a Chroin the same day but he had not been seen or heard from since.

Police Scotland have confirmed that a body had been found near Beinn A Chroin in Crianlarich, but a formal identification had not taken place. Mr Meyer's family has been informed.

A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
