AH, happy Easter everyone! As daffodil bulbs start to blossom, chocolate eggs get unwrapped, the resurrection of Jesus Christ is celebrated - Liz Truss is hanging out with a lamb outside of an abandoned church.

Yes, of course she is. Why wouldn't she?

The former and much-missed prime minister posted an Easter message on her Twitter/X account on Sunday morning which confused users of the site quite a bit.

Truss can be seen marking Easter with ... a lamb ... outside an abandoned church ...

"Did she just find a lamb near an abandoned church and pick it up, or did she bring the lamb to the abandoned church specifically?," comedian Jack Bernhardt pondered.

The more you consider it, the harder it gets to form a response to that question which isn't completely bizarre.

Some pointed out the church was quite metaphorical to how she left the country after her 40-odd days rein.

Another quipped, "Great pub tae visit....The Lamb and Lettuce" with reference to the famous Liz Lettuce.

Writer Tom Sutcliffe admired the post, stating: "I love the details here. The shuttered church surrounded by temporary fencing, the broken signpost, the lamb thinking 'Where’s the deep state when you need it?'"

Comedian Armando Iannucci reacted with: "The words say ‘Happy Easter’ but the eyes say ‘This is going in a casserole".

Fellow comedian Joe Lycett, potentially the number one fan of Truss, quickly emulated his idol by holding a makeshift lamb outside a construction site while wishing his followers happy Easter.

Happy Easter everyone!
