POLICE have confirmed that five people have been arrested following a pro-Palestine protest at the UK Government offices in Edinburgh.

We previously told how protesters with This is Rigged targeted Queen Elizabeth House in Edinburgh with red spray-paint.

Some also scaled the building and a video showed them replacing the UK Government’s flag with a Palestinian one.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 10.30am on Wednesday March 6, 2024 we were called to a report of a protest at a building in Sibbald Walk in Edinburgh.

“Five people have been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.”

A UK Government spokesperson previously confirmed that none of the protesters entered the building.

This is Rigged said it was taking action to call out the “UK’s complicity in Israel’s ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people”.

More than 30,000 Palestinians have been killed since the start of Israel’s bombardment of Gaza in October.

The arrests come just a day after two people were charged after spraying soup over the Scott Monument in Edinburgh.
