BELIEVE in Scotland (BiS) is to host the first of several local campaign days this weekend, with stalls and leafleting planned for Perth.

The umbrella independence campaign group plans to link up with Yes groups throughout the year to facilitate and amplify campaign efforts in specific areas, with Perth being the first.

BiS currently has 142 affiliated grassroots Yes Groups with its campaign managed by a national campaign steering group.

Activists are invited to head to Perth city centre on Saturday, February 3 at 10.30am to campaign alongside local group members, as well as Pensioners for Independence. They are aiming to deliver over 3000 leaflets during the day.

Entertainment is also planned from local musicians.

Participants plan to set off at 11am and meet back at the main hub or stall at 2pm for lunch.

The day comes before the group's Scottish independence congress on Saturday, February 17, which will consist of panel discussions, live voting and presentations on campaign strategy.

The full agenda for the event will be made available in due course, and each group can send along two voting delegates to the congress.

If you want to get involved, BiS request anyone interested in attending completes a form to RSVP and to receive more information. You can complete the form here.
