THE actor Jack Lowden is set to return to stages across Scotland as the National Theatre of Scotland (NTS) announces its programme for the year ahead.

Lowden – who has appeared in Hollywood blockbusters such as Fighting with My Family and Dunkirk – made his theatrical debut in the NTS-produced revival of Black Watch in 2010.

In 2024, he will return to stages in Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow in The Fifth Step, a provocative new play written by David Ireland.

The play will preview at the Dundee Rep Theatre before opening at the Royal Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh as part of the 2024 Edinburgh International Festival.

It will then end with a week’s run at the Pavilion Theatre in Glasgow in August.
