SUCCESSION scored major success at the Emmy Awards on Monday night, picking up six wins.
Hollywood stars descended on the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles for the annual awards, which were pushed back from September due to the US actors’ and writers’ strikes, to celebrate the best in television.
The drama’s final season aired last year and focused on warring siblings in a media dynasty led by Logan Roy (below), played by Scottish actor Brian Cox.
The show picked up the award for Best Drama while actors Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, and Matthew Macfadyen picked up prizes for their roles.
Culkin kissed his co-star Cox on the lips when it was announced he had won the Emmy.
The Scottish actor was nominated for this third Emmy for leading actor in a drama series and has previously picked up a Golden Globe for his performance.
Meanwhile, the show’s creator and director, Jesse Armstrong won best writing for a drama series and thanked the “creative community” in the US.

“I come from the UK and the show is about things that are close to the centre of American life and politics and we’ve always been met with generosity and good faith and that’s part of America’s tradition of being very welcoming to outsiders and it’s very nice,” he said.
“And, for some reason, the name of Australian-born media mogul Rupert Murdoch (above) comes to mind.
“I can’t speak for him but I am very grateful for the generosity I’ve been shown working in this country – it was a great sadness to end this show but it was a great pleasure.”
Elsewhere on the night The Bear, about a star chef who returns to Chicago to run the family business after the death of his brother, picked up best lead actor in a comedy as well as best supporting actress.
