MOVIE star Ewan McGregor has dropped in on a Scottish street food vendor for a surprise visit.

McGregor, known for his starring roles in movies including Trainspotting and the Star Wars series, was photographed stopping at Heather Street Food in Dundee.

The van, which sells doughnuts, coffee, and bagels outside the V&A Museum, shared the news of the star’s visit on Instagram.

“Sometimes even Hollywood A-listers crave a hot fresh doughnut,” staff wrote alongside an image of a smiling McGregor.

One person responded: “Holy sh** that’s Obi Wan Kenobi.”

Heather Street Food quipped in reply: “I wasn’t sure but the penny dropped when he tried to cut his bagel in half with a light sabre.”

Also referencing one of the Scots actor’s famous lines from Star Wars, another user commented: “Missed an opportunity to say ‘Hello there’.”

Others made jokes linked to his iconic opening monologue of Danny Boyle’s Trainspotting movie.

“Choose Life. Choose A Doughnut,” one user wrote. “CHOOSE @heatherstreetfood” a second added.

The van is no stranger to celebrity visits. In late November, it posted about BBC Radio 1 DJ Greg James stopping by.

“Look who’s back!” staff wrote. “@greg_james popped straight over for a bagel and a donut after the breakfast show wrapped this morning. What a guy.

“He’s broadcasting the breakfast show right here all week ahead of the super exciting Radio 1 Big Weekend exhibition which opens this Friday.”

And just before Christmas they posted about a visit from DJ Hannah Laing, whose song Good Love had just been certified gold in the UK.

“Surprise visit from the people’s champ @hannahlaingdj who was getting pictures with her brand new gold disc after selling 400,000 copies of #goodlove,” Heather Street Food wrote.

“You’ve got the whole city behind you Hannah, can’t wait for the Caird Hall shows next year.”
