A LUXURY Scottish hotel has been saved from closure after receiving a multi-million pound investment boost from its new owners.
Mar Hall Hotel, Golf and Spa Resort, which is the only five-star hotel in Renfrewshire, fell into administration in August.
The established hotel located on a 240-acre woodland estate was facing an uncertain future after the resort was marketed for sale.
However, it has now been acquired by Dubai-based Dutco Group, supported by investment and asset management firm Align Partners.
They have committed to a £15 million investment package in order to expand and upgrade the property, with refurbishment expected to commence in early 2024.

Architects and interior designers are set to be appointed in January.
Bosses say there are plans for new luxury woodland lodges on the property as well as the refurbishment of guest rooms, public spaces and the revitalisation of the hotel’s leisure and spa facilities.
Nelson Gibb, chief executive officer at Dutco Group, said: “This is our first hotel acquisition in Scotland which is recognised as a world-class destination for hospitality.
“This deal is testament to our confidence in Mar Hall and what we believe we can achieve through targeted and creative investment.
“We are looking forward to working with the Mar Hall team and our partners over the coming years to bring our vision to life.”
The hotel has previously hosted many famous faces including Beyonce, Brad Pitt, and Harry Styles.

Dutco Group said it has ambitions to make the resort into an internationally renowned destination, rivalling other Scottish luxury hotels such as Cameron House and Gleneagles.
In August, EY-Parthenon's Turnaround and Restructuring Strategy team were appointed as joint administrators for the property.
Team leader Kris Aspin said they were “delighted” the property had been saved from closure.
He said: “We are delighted to secure the future of Mar Hall.
“We received an exceptional level of interest in the resort from around the world, underlining the attractiveness of premium Scottish hospitality assets and Mar Hall’s significant potential.
“We are very grateful to the loyal team at Mar Hall for their support and we wish them and the new owners all the best for the future.”
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
