SINGER Rag'n'Bone Man has cancelled his performance in Inverness due to "unforeseen and unavoidable travel issues".

Known for hits Human and Skin, the three-times Brit Award winner was due to take to the stage at the city's Northern Meeting Park stage to headline the Live in the City event on Sunday night.

However, promoter LCC announced on Sunday morning that the performance would not go ahead.

Flights from Gatwick to Inverness were cancelled on Saturday.

Rag'n'Bone Man posted a statement with the promoters detailing why the event was not going ahead at just after 10am.

"It is with deep regret that we have had to make the difficult decision to cancel the concert at the Northern Meeting Park on Sunday 2nd July 2023," the statement read.

"Due to unforeseen and unavoidable travel issues - with flights being cancelled for the band and crew on their way to Scotland and all avenues of alternative travel means exhausted - the sow is logistically impossible to put on without the team and equipment that are unable to get to Inverness today.
