PRICES for hotels in Edinburgh on the dates of Taylor Swift’s upcoming shows have skyrocketed following the singer’s announcement of her European tour.

Despite being just under a year away, fans are already struggling to find affordable hotel rooms on June 7 and 8 – the nights of Swift’s shows at Murrayfield Stadium.

Many popular hotels are already sold out and fans face eyewatering prices if they want to splash out on the remaining rooms in the capital’s hotels.

Indeed, many hotels have increased their prices following the announcement.

One room in Edinburgh Castle Apartments, which would normally set guests back £266, is being listed at a cost of £1100 for the nights of the pop star’s tour dates.

More than 20 city centre hotels have completely sold out of rooms.

The trend has been noted in other cities where Swift is set to appear, including Dublin.

Demand is set to be high for a ticket to the Edinburgh shows, with nearly every show on her US leg of the tour selling out.

Fans have until Thursday, June 22 to register on Taylor Swift’s official website to be in with a chance of getting a ticket.
