EASYJET has launched a new route from Glasgow Airport.
The new year-round route to Southampton will begin for the first time this winter with departures twice a week.
From November 2, travellers will be able to fly to the city on Thursdays and Saturdays.
Ali Gayward, country manager for EasyJet said: “We’re delighted to announce this new route today from Glasgow to Southampton, which will provide customers in Scotland with even greater connectivity across the UK, enabling people to explore more of the fantastic destinations the UK has to offer, reconnect with loved ones and do business.
“We are proud to be the largest airline in Scotland and remain committed to strengthening our unrivalled short-haul network and providing more choice for our customers across the UK, all with great value fares and the warm welcome that our crew are famous for.”
Chief commercial officer at AGS Airports, which owns Glasgow Airport, Matt Hazelwood commented: “easyJet’s plans to operate services between Glasgow and our sister airport in Southampton this winter is great news and this additional service on this popular route will help deliver greater choice and flexibility for both our business and leisure travellers.”
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
