SCOTTISH comedian Paul Black has announced he will star in a brand new Hogmanay comedy special on BBC Scotland.
The Glaswegian, known for his viral online comedy sketches, said it was an "absolute dream" to follow in the footsteps of the likes Still Game and create his own New Year's Eve programme for the broadcaster.
The parody finds Black on a mission to find out who stole the prize money from his local social club's annual New Year's Eve karaoke competition as he fears his good reputation is at stake.

The Scot said it was a tough job directing and starring in a broadcast show but said it was worth it in the end.
He told The National: "I'm really excited to be writing and directing for TV.
"Working on projects like this is always hard because you don't get the instant gratification like you do by posting a sketch online but it's always worth the effort.

"I got the chance to work with so many talented actors, new and established. It was so much fun to shoot more than anything and I'm excited for everyone to see it.
"It was a tough job taking on the roles of writer, director and actor but I had a fantastic and experienced crew that helped me achieve it and it all paid off in the end.
"I grew up watching Still Game and Only an Excuse on NYE so to land this iconic slot is an absolute dream."
Gavin Smith, commissioning executive for Scripted and Comedy at BBC Scotland, told The National: “We are delighted to have commissioned TikTok star and comedy talent Paul Black for this one-off festive special.
"First Footing perfectly captures that New Year’s Day feeling when you planned to do nothing but you’re thrown a curveball and you end up on some random adventure.”

The show will be produced by Kathy Speirs and Margarita Veberaite and will be available on BBC iPlayer after it airs.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
