POLICE have charged six young people in connection to a fire that destroyed a listed building in Dundee.

Willison House on Barrack Street went up in flames on November 12, with emergency service workers battling for hours to try and save the historic building.

However, last week a spokesperson for Dundee City Council said that the “extent of the fire has left nothing that can be saved.”

Four 13-year-old males, a 13-year-old female and a 12-year-old male have now been arrested and charged in connection to the incident, police have said.

Reports will be sent to both the Youth Justice Assessor and Procurator Fiscal.

Detective Constable David Feeney, from Dundee CID said : “We are aware of the devastating impact this fire had on Dundee and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the public for assisting with our investigation.”

The former furniture store has since been demolished by the council.

The Structured House Group, who own the site, had been hoping to turn the building into student accommodation.
