EXAMPLE brought the sunshine to TRNSMT on Saturday - and his DJ declared him the major of Glasgow in the process.
Warming up the stage for the star - whose real name is Elliot Gleave - his DJ beamed: “Some people know him as the major of Glasgow. We know him as Example.”

The rapper, 40, then launched into the Laidback Luke collaboration Natural Disaster before announcing, “Glasgow’s it’s good to be home.
“We are here for one thing today and that’s to jump about like f**king lunatics.”
He added: “I f**king love this city. I’ve been coming to Glasgow since 2006 and you always show me love.”
And the fans responded in typical Glasgow fashion with, “Here we f**king go.”

Kickstarts and Changed the Way You Kiss Me were highlights before he performed the Calvin Harris smash We'll Be Coming Back.
He then joked: "Calvin doesn’t play this song in his sets anymore but this is Calvin’s mum's favourite."
The singer seemed enamoured with the Scottish fans throughout his set declaring them, "the best crowd in the world" - and we have to agree.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
Callum Baird, Editor of The National
