IF you are to visit someone, it's common courtesy to let them know you're coming first.

But perhaps that courtesy is wholly too common for some of the ruling classes.

Judging by the reaction of many people in the streets of Glasgow, the royals didn't bother letting anyone know they were on their way.

William and Kate, the Earl and Countess of Strathearn, visited Scotland's largest city on Wednesday ostensibly as part of the Jubilee celebrations.

Rumours suggest the royals also hope to shore up support for the Union by sending some of their family members north of the Border.
