Alan Cumming, Jack Lowden, Martin Compston and Lulu, are among the stars who will walk the red carpet at the Glasgow Film Festival 2022 – the city’s 18th annual celebration of cinema.

GFF 2022 will run from March 2-13, with a programme which envelops 10 world film premieres, four European premieres, 65 UK premieres, and 13 Scottish premieres.

On March 3, actor, presenter, and writer Alan Cumming will be attending the European premiere of My Old School, which is the true story of a classmate of director Jono McLeod – Brandon Lee – who enrolled in Bearsen Academy in 1993 as a fifth year student with an “unplaceable” accent as a 30-something, trying to restart his life.

On March 6, Glasgow-born creative force Armando Iannucci will appear with a live “In Conversation” event, looking back over his wide-ranging, multimedia career.

Anders Danielsen Lie, star of the Oscar-nominated anti-rom-com, The Worst Person In The World, will make an appearance on March 4, with Scottish star Jack Lowden set to sppear at the Scottish premiere of Terence Davies’ acclaimed Siegfried Sassoon biopic, Benediction, on March 7.

Martin Compston will be attending a 20th anniversary screening of the film that kickstarted his career as one of the country’s most high-profile actors – Ken Loach’s Sweet Sixteen, alongside fellow cast and crew including Rebecca O’Brien and Paul Laverty, on March 16.

Glasgow Film Festival will also be welcoming acclaimed and up-and-coming behind-the-camera talents including Scottish director Ruth Paxton for the Scottish premiere of her highly anticipated debut feature A Banquet on March 5; GFF favourite Iciar Bollain with the UK premiere of Maixabel on March 8, and director Nigel Askew and protagonist Joe Corre (son of Malcolm McLaren and Vivienne Westwood) for the world premiere of the new documentary on the commodification of counter-culture, Wake Up Punk, on March 12.

Glasgow Film Festival has firmly established itself as a key event in the UK's cultural calendar. Launched in 2005, GFF has grown greatly in significance and is now a key launching pad for films and one of the top film festivals in the UK.

Held annually, it presents a unique programme of feature film premieres, special events, live and interactive experiences, and an Industry Focus programme for filmmakers at every stage of their career.
