SCOTLAND has recorded more than 6000 new cases of Covid-19 but no new deaths, the latest daily figures show.
The 6221 new positive cases of the virus include results from both lateral flow and PCR tests as the Scottish Government has changed the way it reports daily figures.
Previously, the figures only included positive results recorded through a PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test but now include the first positive results through a lateral flow device (LFD).
The latest figures include 2246 positive results through only a PCR, 3928 through an LFD and 47 people who tested positive through a PCR following an LFD.
Public Health Scotland (PHS) was unable to share daily figures of Covid cases and deaths on Sunday due to an "IT issue". The body said that the issue is "under investigation".

No new deaths were reported in the figures for January 17 as PHS notes that register offices are generally closed at weekends.
It means the death toll under this measurement, of people who tested positive for the virus in the past 28 days, remains at 10,059.
There were 1557 people in hospital on Sunday with recently confirmed Covid-19, a decrease of five on the day before.
Of these people, 43 were in intensive care, up by one.
One Scottish health board was unable to report hospital numbers on Sunday, meaning their data has been rolled forward from Saturday (January 15), according to PHS.
A total of 4,400,229 people have now received their first dose of a Covid vaccination and 4,087,517 have received their second dose.
Some 3,204,311 have received a third dose or booster.
