DARTS fans have taken aim at Boris Johnson in a mass protest broadcast live on TV to thousands of viewers.

Attendees at the 2022 PDC World Darts Championship rose to their feet to chant “stand up if you hate Boris” at a packed Alexandra Palace in London on Monday night.

There has been public and political outrage in recent weeks following revelations that several gatherings have been held at Downing Street while the UK was in lockdown.

The most recent report included a picture of Johnson, his wife Carrie and 17 others enjoying wine and cheese in the Downing Street garden during the first wave in May last year.

Darts fans made their displeasure at the Prime Minister clear during the world championship.

It follows another public display of dissent from sports fans over the weekend. Leeds United supporters voiced their anger during a home match against Arsenal on Saturday. (*warning: strong language*)

It comes amid speculation about Number 10 introducing fresh lockdown restrictions in England to combat the Omicron variant.

Public health experts have warned the indoor darts event, which is expected to attract up to 80,000 spectators, should not be open to fans.

“There is no concept of social distancing and they will not be wearing masks because they are drinking,” Keith Neаl, а public heаlth expert аt the University of Nottingham said.
