A JOURNALIST has asked the Prime Minister if “everything is okay” after he stunned viewers with a "rambling" speech at the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) conference.
Boris Johnson defended plans to scale back social care reforms and HS2 rail links while making a number of references to Peppa Pig World.
The Tory leader also lost his place for around 20 seconds, repeatedly saying “forgive me” and “blast it” as he desperately flicked through his notes.
After the address, an ITV reporter asked the Prime Minister: “In your speech to the CBI, you lost your notes, you lost your place, you went off on a tangent about Peppa Pig.
“Frankly, is everything okay?”
He replied: “I think that people got the vast majority of the points I wanted to make and I thought it went over well.”
Shortly after the 20-second gap in his CBI speech, the PM continued with references to Peppa Pig.
Talking to business leaders, including the CEO of AstraZeneca, the PM said: "Yesterday I went, as we all must, to Peppa Pig World.

"I don’t know if you’ve been to Peppa Pig World, who’s been, hands up anyone who’s been to Peppa Pig World? Not enough."
Johnson also imitated a racing car and encouraged young people to get back in the office because “mother nature does not like us working from home”.
The speech shocked many who watched with Green MP Caroline Lucas labelling the speech “incoherent rambling”.
Scottish Constitution Secretary Angus Robertson, sharing a video of the address, tweeted: "Must Watch: The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom! A periodic reminder why the Tory Party has not won a single national election in Scotland since 1955."

Scottish Labour MP Ian Murray added: "He did say his government policy was to 'f*** business'. I think a speech of such little preparation and bumbling on about Peppa Pig just shows he meant it."
STV journalist Colin Mackay added it was “one of the weirdest Boris Johnson speeches yet”.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
