A major milestone has now been met – with a massive total of 1000 National subscribers having signed up for a new Scotwallet to receive their 1000 Scotcoin.

More emails are set to go out to National subscribers, so if you haven’t received yours yet – fear not, it’s on the way!

Meanwhile, if you’d like to take up the offer and claim your 1000 Scotcoin, you can take out a subscription to The National for as little as £2 for two months – click here for more info.

The National:

Once you’ve followed the instructions for bagging your Scotcoin, please allow for a little extra time for it to come through due to the significant uptake.

Among the benefits of a subscription to The National is unlimited access to all our premium content and analysis from Scotland’s top voices, such as David Pratt and Lesley Riddoch, giving their take on the latest news.

The vision behind Scotcoin is to help facilitate a better Scotland using digital currency as the fuel to help deliver lasting change.

For example, through backing Social Bite and offsetting carbon footprint with Planting Direct. You can also hold on to yours for when it goes on an exchange early next year.

National editor Callum Baird said: “Our readers have been really interested in this project – which, like us, is interested in how we keep making Scotland a better place.

“We’re interested in reporting on positive news about Scotland and the many projects trying to use technology to create a greener feature, not just the doom and gloom, which is especially relevant during COP26.

“It’s a great time to join The National’s family of subscribers – and we look forward to welcoming you.”
