There were also no new deaths reported of people who have previously tested positive for coronavirus in the latest figures, while it is noted that register offices are generally closed at weekends.

This means that the total death toll under the daily measure - of people who tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days - remains at 7800.

Across Scotland's hospitals yesterday there were 536 patients with recently confirmed Covid-19, an increase of 25 on the day before. Of those people, 45 were in intensive care, a fall of one.

It comes as all of Scotland moves to Level 0 of the Government's five tiers of coronavirus restrictions.

Face coverings in shops and on public transport will remain mandatory but social distancing will reduce from two metres to one metre inside public spaces.

Meanwhile, "informal social gatherings" of up to 15 people from 15 households will be permitted outdoors without physical distancing, while up to 200 people can now gather at weddings and funerals.

Hospitality venues can stay open until midnight if they are licensed to do so, extended from the current curfew of 10pm.
