SCOTLAND’S biggest city has been decked out with American flags for a new movie which is to soon to begin filming.

Workers erected flagpoles with the American stars and stripes flag in the Merchant City area of Glasgow today, while similar banners appeared on St Vincent Street yesterday.

It comes as the new Indiana Jones movie is rumoured to be filming in the city this month.

The National:

Film crews were spotted capturing scenes for Indiana Jones 5 in the Borders and Highlands in June, with cameras following a high-speed motorbike chase through the valley in front of Buachaille Etive Mor.

According to Glasgow Live shooting is due to begin in Glasgow city centre this month. It is not known whether Harrison Ford will be on set.

The legendary actor has been spotted in the north of England in recent weeks as filming took place there.

Last month Ford suffered a shoulder injury, prompting reports that shooting for the new film would be shut down for three months.

The National:

But director James Mangold denied that was the case, telling a fan on Twitter: “We’re all good. Shooting! But thanks!”

A Disney spokesperson said production would be “reconfigured as needed” following Ford’s accident.

The film is scheduled to be released on July 29 next year.
