NIGEL Farage was raging last night as Channel 4 revealed their spoof of the Queen’s Speech created using deepfake technology.
A digitally created version of the Queen, played by actress Debra Stephenson, will deliver Channel 4’s alternative Christmas message and offer a stark warning about misinformation and fake news.
The channel’s annual Christmas Day broadcast will appear to show the Queen telling viewers: “On the BBC, I haven’t always been able speak plainly and from the heart.
“So, I am grateful to Channel 4 for giving me the opportunity to say whatever I like, without anyone putting words in my mouth.”
The artificially rendered version of the monarch, created by visual effects studio Framestore, will appear to share her thoughts on the departure of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from the UK, and the scandal surrounding the Duke of York and his connection to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
She can also be seen performing a TikTok dance routine and revealing her penchant for “Netflix and Phil” with the Duke of Edinburgh.
The clip is clearly a demonstration of the dangers of misinformation and a reminder that in a time where we were a constantly blasted with information, we must be careful not to believe everything we see.
But for the Brexit Party leader it is simply unacceptable to show the Queen in such a light.
“How dare they,” he tweeted furiously.
Other royal fans also felt it was out of order, with one commenting: “This is totally distasteful and out of order, you should be ashamed of mocking the Queen.”
Missing the point much?
Of course it makes sense that a warning over fake news might upset Nigel Farage, who has been accused of spreading “fake news” himself.
Most recently Farage was criticised for falsely claiming an Ellesmere Port hotel was housing what he calls “illegal immigrants”.

After concerns were raised following his YouTube video, the local MP Justin Madders tweeted: “We had a meeting with the council and residents about the Mercure last night and whilst there are issues, there was no suggestion from anyone that ‘illegal immigrants’ were staying there.
“Fake news from what I can see.”
Channel 4 will broadcast its alternative Christmas message, which has previously been delivered by the likes of Edward Snowden and Grenfell survivors, at 3.25pm tomorrow.
