VOICES for Scotland is launching its online autumn programme of events this evening with a stellar line-up of iconic Scottish actor David Hayman and award-winning writer Chris Dolan.

The pair will discuss their careers, activism and views on Scottish independence with Voices for Scotland chair Audrey Birt. David Hayman will also perform part of a one-man show in what is promised to be a very special and intimate event.

Birt said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be joined by David and Chris at what will be a really thought-provoking, enlightening and interesting event. They are two people I have admired for a long time, so we’re delighted they’re kicking off our exciting programme of events for autumn.

“Voices for Scotland is people focussed, so these events are all about creating a community of ideas and interesting stories to help grow support for independence.”

Dolan wrote the one man show, The Pitiless Storm, which Hayman performs in.

The piece is set on the eve of the Scottish independence referendum and focuses on a left-wing trade unionist as he goes through a crisis of conscience as he is forced to question his political and moral beliefs in the face of a sea-change in his country’s political life.

David Hayman is known for his roles in Trial and Retribution and as Brace in Taboo.

Chris Dolan is an award-winning novelist, poet, and playwright.

The event is free to view online and starts at 6pm this evening. Viewers will have an opportunity to put questions to the guests.
