The National:

A TORY MP has been left red-faced after swearing during a House of Commons session.

Conservative Heather Wheeler was speaking during a debate on Covid-19 when an apparent fault with her video link to Parliament.

Expressing her frustration with the issue, Wheeler appeared to utter: "Oh f****** hell".

Deputy Speaker of the House, Nigel Evans, told the South Derbyshire MP to "please carry on", as her comments were picked up during the feed being broadcast to the Commons Chamber.

MPs have had to adapt to the hybrid-Commons system since returning from the Easter recess.

Television screens were added to the House, with a number of MPs making their contributions virtually whilst a small number are present in the Chamber.

Unfortunately, the Tory MP's bad language didn't make it into the Hansard transcript.

In fairness to Wheeler, she merely said what plenty of viewers say virtually every time a Tory MP gets up to speak in the Commons...
