ALLAN MCGREGOR 8
Fingertip stop from an Elyounoussi effort was another moment of magic. Will be disappointed not to keep a clean sheet.
JAMES TAVERNIER 8
A terrific all-round showing from the captain as he lead Rangers to another deserved derby victory. Deliveries were excellent throughout as he caused Celtic plenty of problems.
CONNOR GOLDSON 6
Has been a commanding presence in these fixtures this term but this wasn’t his finest showing. Will be frustrated at the chances that Celtic created.
JACK SIMPSON 6
Given his Old Firm debut but didn’t make the most of his chance to impress as he looked unconvincing at times. Harshly booked for a nothing foul on Edouard.
BORNA BARISIC 7
Rarely troubled in his own half as he patrolled the left flank with purpose. Sent in a series of teasing crosses but forced off late on through injury.
GLEN KAMARA 8
Typically effective and impressive in the middle of the park. Played his part as Rangers dominated.
STEVEN DAVIS 9
Cool, calm and composed. A midfield masterclass from the Northern Irishman as he strolled through another Old Firm win.
JOE ARIBO 8
Saw plenty of the ball and found himself in dangerous positions as Rangers controlled the game. Used it well and looked a threat throughout.
KEMAR ROOFE 9
Hasn’t always come to the fore in the Old Firm encounters but this was a superb showing. Showed real ingenuity to open the scoring and his run and header for the second proved his class.
RYAN KENT 9
A constant threat to Celtic and one that they just couldn’t handle. Didn’t get the goal that his performance merited as he impressed throughout.
ALFREDO MORELOS 8
Should have scored from a Tavernier cross but made up for his miss with a powerful finish after beating Brown with ease. Lead the line well on an excellent afternoon.
Substitutes:
SCOTT WRIGHT 4
(for Barisic, 79) Looked bright in late cameo.
IANIS HAGI 4
(for Morelos, 84) Made a positive impact off the bench.
JERMAIN DEFOE 5
(for Roofe, 86) Rounded off the scoring with a lovely finish late on.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
