GEORGE EDMUNDSON faces three weeks out of action at Derby County as he looks to recover from a hernia issue.

The defender made the move to the Championship during the January transfer window in search of regular first team football.

Edmundson made just two appearances for Rangers before his Covid breach alongside Jordan Jones saw him suspended for seven matches and he wouldn't play for Steven Gerrard's side again this term.

The Englishman's last appearance for Derby came in the defeat to Millwall last month and boss Rooney said: "Before George came to us he had surgery on a hernia and he has a hernia on the other side.

"It is a decision we have to make whether he has surgery on it or not, but I think he will be out for two or three weeks."
