Celtic eased past Falkirk in the Scottish Cup on Saturday to set up a clash with Rangers in the fourth round of the competition.

A number of Hoops loanees were also in action for their clubs and here Glasgow Times Sport has compliled how the youngsters got on...

JACK HENDRY (25 appearances 2 goals)

The National:

Scotland international Hendry played 68 minutes as Oostende lost 0-2 to Waasland-Beveren. Hendry’s side finished the game with nine men as Frederik Jaekel and Makhtar Gueye were sent off in two separate incidents. Hendry was impressive in a tough defensive shift, but was replaced in the second half as his team looked to attacking options to try and find a route back into the game. Goals from Danel Sinani and Michael Frey proved to be enough for Beveren though.

VAKOUN ISSOUF BAYO (Toulouse: 24 appearances 6 goals)

The National:

Bayo got the last 20 minutes as Toulouse fired four past Nancy in Ligue 2 in France. Saliou Ciss, Janis Antiste, Ruben Gabrielsen and Amine Adli were on target as the home side continued their promotion push. Les Violets are currently just three points off the top of the league with Troyes currently leading the way. Bayo has scored six goals in 24 appearances for the French outfit since arriving on loan from Celtic.

EWAN HENDERSON (Dunfermline: 3 appearances 0 goals)

The National:

Henderson was a late substitute as Dunfermline drew a blank with Championship leaders Hearts on Saturday. The Pars are still in with a shout of promotion after climbing into the play-off places as they ended a run of three league defeats. Henderson looked tricky when introduced into the action, but ultimately, he could not break the deadlock at East End Park.

LUCA CONNELL (Queen’s Park: 3 appearances 1 goal)

The National:

Connell started as Queen’s Park defeated Stirling Albion in League Two on Saturday. The former Bolton man played 90 minutes as the Glasgow based side extended their lead at the top of the table to ten points. He also scooped the man of the match award for the third time since his recent loan switch. Ray McKinnon’s side are still unbeaten in the league this season and are closing in on promotion into League One.

LEO HJELDE (Ross County: 9 appearances 1 goal)

The National:

Hjelde played the full 90 minutes as Ross County were knocked out the Scottish Cup by Highland rivals Inverness on Friday night. A Billy Mckay goal proved to be a consolation as Caley eased to a 1-3 win via goals from Nikolay Todorov, Daniel MacKay and Shane Sutherland. Despite defeat on Friday Hjelde has impressed County boss John Hugues. The Highland gaffer expects the Norwegian to be close to a starting spot at Celtic when he returns in the summer.

SCOTT ROBERTSON (Doncaster: 12 appearances 0 goals)

The National:

Robertson started as Doncaster lost against Charlton on Friday night. The game was decided by a single goal as Ian Maatsen scored on 12 minutes at the Keepmoat Stadium. Robertson was replaced on 58 minutes by Taylor Richards, but he will have been happy to start the game. Since moving to Rovers in January the 19-year-old has struggled for game time in England’s League One. Doncaster take on Bristol Rovers today as they look to build on their current mid-table position.

BARRY COFFEY (Cliftonville: 9 appearances 0 goals)

The National:

Coffey was a second half substitute as Cliftonville put five past Warrenpoint Town on Saturday. Michael McCrudden scored a hat-trick the Reds as they registered their biggest away win of the season. Coffey came on with the score at 4-0 and he put in assured performance in the middle of the park to see out the game. The NIFL Premiership side welcome Dungannon Swifts to Solitude tomorrow as they look to move on up the table.

LEE O’CONNOR (Tranmere Rovers: 32 appearances 0 goals)

The National:

The young right-back was hooked at half-time as Tranmere suffered a thumping 4-0 defeat at the hands of Cheltenham on Friday night. Conor Thomas, William Boyle, Alfie May and Callum Wright were all on target for the home side as they closed the gap on League Two leaders Cambridge. O’Connor was replaced by Danny Llyod at the interval after picking up a booking for mistimed challenge. Tranmere will look to bounce back from their heavy defeat tonight as they take on high flying Cambridge at Prenton Park.

JONATHAN AFOLABI (Dundee: 18 appearances 3 goals)

The National:

The striker came on as a late substitute as Dundee exited the Scottish Cup following defeat to St Johnstone. Guy Melamed opened the scoring on 20 minutes for Saints and his strike proved to be enough to split the teams. Dundee had a goal disallowed for offside and also missed a penalty through Charlie Adam, that was expertly saved by Zander Clark. Afolabi saw very little of the ball in the dying stages after he was introduced from the bench.
