ROSS County co-manager Stuart Kettlewell last night revealed the Dingwall club haven't received any bids for striker Ross Stewart after the 2-0 defeat to Rangers at Ibrox.
Both Aberdeen and Hibernian have been linked with a move for the former St Mirren player, who has scored 11 goals in the 2019/20 campaign, during the January transfer window.
However, Kettlewell stressed there had been no interest the 23-year-old, who is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, from any of their Ladbrokes Premiership rivals.
“There is nothing at all,” he said. “There has genuinely been no contact with the football club. We know he has been very good for us this season, so we are obviously not surprised if there’s a bit of speculation on his future.
“We are keeping him as far away from the place as we can! He’s stranded up north somewhere and we’ve got him in lockdown!”
Kettlewell felt that County, who now take on Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Saturday, could have performed better up front in their meeting with Rangers.
“It was obviously tough,” he said. “We knew it would be difficult coming here, especially on the back of what we put in on Saturday. You look at the fixtures coming up and you know in advance that it is going to be a massive task.
“In truth, nobody gives you a chance. We certainly believed that we would have something. We created a number of chances at Parkhead on Saturday. But we were less joined up in our possession and our creativity tonight.
“We certainly can’t fault our players for their effort and trying to stay together and keep that compact unit. But we could have been better on the front foot and tested Rangers a lot more in their final third.
“But we aren’t going to be too negative about it. We knew this was going to be a massively challenging week for us. So much so, that we have to stay down for the next couple of days and try to limit the travelling.
“The fight that we were looking for would probably be against Kilmarnock and we have to put all our emphasis on that now.”
