A PUSH to close The National has attempted to reignite its campaign following the viral front page supporting Italy in tomorrow's Euro 2020 final against England.
Italy take on England in the final of the Euro 2020 tournament tomorrow with the match being played at Wembley, and England hope to win their first major tournament since 1966.
Today's front page had the Italian national team's manager Roberto Mancini's face photoshopped onto Braveheart's with the headline "Save us Roberto you're our ... FINAL HOPE (We can't take another 55 years of them banging on about this)".
It's a tongue-in-cheek reference to the constant reminders of England's 1966 World Cup success. We're sure you've heard those at least a few times over the Euro 2020 coverage.

The Twitter account @TheNationalHate sprung into life on June 17 with dozens of tweets aiming to get supermarket chains to stop stocking The National, calling on advertisers to stop working with us and describing news articles as "conspiracy theories".
Just as quickly as it began, the account ceased tweeting, possibly not getting the recognition they thought their campaign deserved.
Today, after The National's front page (Saturday, July 10) supporting Italy was shared widely online, the account has sprung back into action.
However, it doesn't seem to be picking up much steam ...

The account's latest tweet (sent at 1am) has garnered three likes in the time it has been up.
Sharing our front page tweet, it reads: "Let's get this ugly anglophobic 'publication' shut down once and for all. What do you say @Tesco @sainsburys @asda ... You do stock it afterall?"

We don't really fancy their chances.
