IN this week's video column Lesley Riddoch discusses plans to create a TV drama about Nicola Sturgeon and Alex Salmond which she thinks is "all wrong".

A production company based in Glasgow has taken out options on a book called Break-Up: How Alex Salmond and Nicola Sturgeon Went to War and they are currently looking to get the production of the drama up and running.

Lesley highlights the series' creative director's comments that the "once united ideologies fracture" of Salmond and Sturgeon despite the fact that the "ideologies" of both seem to be towards the same aim.

The production is being produced as the stories of both Salmond and Sturgeon continue with Lesley saying that this could affect both of their credibility as well as the cause of independence "for ratings".

Despite comparisons with a similar production about Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, this production did not deal with the pair's current relationship and Lesley ponders whether this may be this production.

It could take one of two paths with the much-storied and volatile Holyrood harassment inquiry as a main point of interest, or taking in the lives and careers of both up to some point before the legal issues.

Lesley wonders why this second option would be relevant and the damage it could cause to people currently holding positions like Sturgeon as First Minister or Salmond as leader of Alba.
