I WAS very pleased to see some coverage of the Dunoon Report on postal voting in The National (Referendum research leads to new warning on postal vote integrity, April 3). Even allowing for a later registration of the postal voting applications, it is impossible to achieve 96% take-up – impossible – and yet that is a figure which is not contested. What is as suspicious is that four other constituencies achieved about 95% (including Jim Murphy’s seat), three of which are historically strong SNP. I am perplexed at the lack of concern and I want to see the postal voting system comprehensively re-jigged before our referendum.
