IF you wanted the mainstream media in Scotland to advertise the notion that serious politicians believe Holyrood is more important than Westminster, how could you achieve this?

The subliminal message from the Cherry vs Robertson debate is that Holyrood is the place for Scottish politics. It is strengthening the role of Holyrood in the eyes of the public at a time when Westminster is doing its best to undermine Holyrood, by not involving Holyrood in decisions, not even informing them of decisions, and the limp wet towel of a Presiding Officer is allowing the Tories to bang their desks like chimps at the zoo. All serve to belittle, disrespect and delegitimise the very existence of Holyrood.]

So let the press scream about SNP in-fighting, but remember most people are not too interested in political antics and the real message of Holyrood as the place of pre-eminent political power in Scotland is being broadcast widely. That is the message most people will take away from this debate.
