A NEW sign has been installed in the Glasgow's Southside the "wrong way round".

The pedestrian signage is understood to have been erected by Glasgow City Council on Victoria Road in Govanhill on Wednesday.

However, the sign, which is located on the pavement next to Crema where the road meets Albert Avenue, is pointing walkers heading to Langside, Queen's Park, New Victoria Hospital, Crosshill and Strathbungo in the opposite direction of where they should be going.

A spokesperson for Glasgow City Council confirmed it will be corrected.

A picture of the new sign was shared on Twitter with the caption: "Installed today, the wrong way round."

In response, one person joked: "All they need to do is add 'you are here' with a big arrow that goes all the way round to the other side of the sign."

Another said: "They had ONE job."

A third added: "Does the other side have the same shaped panels? Hopefully just a matter of swapping them around."
