HUMZA Yousaf will set out the priorities for his premiership in his first major policy statement at Holyrood since succeeding Nicola Sturgeon.

It comes after he addressed the STUC Congress on Monday where he dismissed concerns that his predecessor should be suspended amid pressure from opposition parties.

It remains to be seen exactly what the First Minister will set out in his statement although he has been urged to be bold on taxation by anti-poverty campaigners.

When is the statement?

According to the Scottish Parliament’s website, a meeting of the parliament will begin around 2pm.

This will start with a “time for reflection” led by Reverend Drew Gebbie and followed by a series of topical questions.
