THE National has a stable full of top columnists. Between Lesley Riddoch, David Pratt, Richard Walker, Andrew Tickell and the rest it can be hard to keep on top of them all.
That might – might – explain the BBC’s omission of The National when it came to reporting on the background of its Question Time guests for this week.
Alongside Labour’s Stephen Kinnock and the Tories’ Robert Jenrick, the BBC panel show will this week feature three journalists.

The first is Private Eye editor Ian Hislop and the third Spectator columnist Lionel Shriver. The second: Ruth Wishart.
National readers may recognise Ruth from our pages, where she has been a regular feature for years. More recently, she has moved over to our Sunday edition and features on the front of our Seven Days insert most weeks.
The BBC apparently missed all that.

They described Ruth as a “Scottish journalist and broadcaster” who “has written for The Scotsman, The Herald, and The Guardian”.
She is also the “former presenter of current affairs radio show ‘Eye to Eye’”, the BBC tells us.
Is that everything? Apparently yes…
The BBC has been asked for comment.
