A NEW patisserie from the Six by Nico team will open in Glasgow this week.

The team behind the popular restaurant concept has announced its new venture will open on February 16 at 333 Byres Road.

The bakery, named Valaria, will have 34 seats and serve breakfast, brunch, lunch and takeaway.

The team will offer artisan fresh pastries, breads, and desserts, as well as a daily assortment of French macaron and eclair flavours like tiramisu, cereal milk, salted caramel, and rhubarb and custard.

The patisserie will also serve its own house coffee blend.

Glasgow-based Six by Nico currently runs 13 venues across the UK and Ireland and is looking to open a further four across the UK along with new bar and bakery ventures.

Boasting £30.8 million turnover for the year to June 2022, the group is also drawing up plans for international expansion, with hopes to open a new site in Dubai towards the end of 2023.

The patisserie will be open seven days per week from 8am until 8pm. The general manager of Valaria, Ronan Mallon, said: "We are excited to bring some of the most innovative and luxurious cakes Scotland has ever seen to Glasgow.

"We are launching Valaria with a brand new concept store for the first time, debuting our signature bakes and goods that will be freshly prepared on site. The Patisserie will be a new experience for Glaswegians, and our team is looking forward to showcasing our sumptuous products."
