A SENIOR Tory MP has been reported to the police over allegations of rape and sexual assault.

Colleagues within the Conservative Party have made a third-party report to the Metropolitan Police due to concerns about the conduct of the backbench MP, which allegedly span two years and involve a string of sexual assaults.

The MP has not yet been suspended by party bosses despite their behaviour being subject to an investigation by an independent law firm.

No formal investigation has been opened by Scotland Yard.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "On October 28, police received allegations of serious sexual assault reported to have taken place on unknown dates at undisclosed locations.

“The reports were submitted via a third party. Officers are making enquiries into these allegations.”

It comes as it was revealed that a former Tory MP was arrested last year over allegations of historical sexual abuse.

Another current Tory MP is also facing rape allegations and has been told to avoid Westminster while police investigate the claims.
